Looking back..

Tue Jul 3, 2007, 5:56 AM
It's been a long time since I've heard a particular song in my playlist.

You know how your playlist mirrors your life, always evolving, changing? It's funny because we all have a "life soundtrack" where you can listen to a song and go right back to a period in your life, and feel the thoughts and emotions you did back then.

This morning, a particular song came out of nowhere and took me back almost 1 year ago to the day, where I was trying to figure out how to get happy again, dig myself out of a very deep emotional hole in the ground.

I wish I could speak to myself, the person I was back then. I wish I could reach out and show him how it is now, and talk some sense into him. I find myself wanting to do these things, and then I catch myself, and realize that I am happy today, because I went through the dispair and the emptiness at that time. What do they say, you don't know happiness until you know sadness? That's true.

I am a very happy person now. I've come through to the other side. Looking back, I see dark clouds and a storm that's just come through. Looking ahead, I see bright sunshine and endless opportunities.

I'm taking a step forward..

Peace & Love,
Mark

Hey stranger!

Yeah, the new setup is slick, and I'm finding it way too easy to churn out good images.

I'll keep flagging favs as long as you keep taking good pics! :)

well i'm tryin..but i havent taken anything in quite awhile. havent had the 'inspiration' to
get out and take my camera with me. this time of year, things are so ugly...its hard to be
inspired.

I am definately enjoying your stuff thou! great work!

It's odd, because I'm a studio based photographer, I never, ever get the inspiration to get out and take my camera with me, everywhere I go, like you might. I was driving home the other day from the studio, and I drove past a girl stooping down by a rose in someone's front garden, taking a picture, and I thought of you. lol
